Co. Clare, Ireland — 22 Jan. 2009 — The Dovado 3G router enables the sharing of the internet service delivered via a USB modem and Irish consumers can now purchase this device from Commsoft Ltd, a software company based in Clare.

In many Irish homes and offices, the 3G Mobile Broadband services provided by O2, Vodafone and Three are the only show in town in terms of high-speed access to the internet. 3G broadband is delivered via a USB modem, traditionally connected to a single computer and users invariably find themselves in the most inconvenient spots in the home to avail of the best reception.

The Dovado USB Mobile Broadband Router (UMR) has now arrived to make 3G internet in the home or small office a much more comfortable affair. The USB modem is plugged into the UMR and the internet connection can then be shared (wirelessly or via ethernet) among multiple users and devices throughout the home or office. The router can be located wherever the 3G signal is strongest.

The Dovado UMR, has rapidly attracted a sizeable Irish fan-base, requiring its own thread on boards.ie, Ireland’s largest community website. There is a general atmosphere of customer satisfaction on the thread. Technical issues are raised and a Dovado representative is at hand to resolve them quickly. Praise for the product, many had to source from Sweden, is frequent: “Setup took about five minutes and it works great with O2 Ireland. It’s a really nice product.”, “I just got my new Dovado modem and so far its working really well. I use Vodafone and it was a plug and play install.”

The Dovado UMR can now be purchased directly from a Clare-based software company, Commsoft Ltd, via their website www.commsoft.ie for €130 including VAT and delivery. Commsoft are impressed with the quality of this product, the speed of the Dovado’s support response and its ongoing program to release frequent firmware updates, which extend and improve the functionality and performance of the device.
