Dublin, July 20, 2010 - O2 today announced it will offer dedicated data plans for iPad with Wi-Fi + 3G in Ireland. The iPad data tariffs will be available without a minimum term contract and include free access to Bitbuzz Wi-Fi hotspots in Ireland. The O2 micro SIM pack for iPad will contain full set up and registration details and customers will be able to check data usage, top up their account and purchase a new broadband pass for their iPad using O2’s My Account service.

The iPad allows users to connect with their apps and content in a more intimate, intuitive and fun way than ever before. Users can browse the web, read and send email, enjoy and share photos, watch HD videos, listen to music, play games and much more, all using iPad’s revolutionary Multi-Touch user interface. iPad with Wi-Fi + 3G models are just 0.5 inches thick and weigh just 726 grams—thinner and lighter than any laptop or netbook—and deliver up to 10 hours of battery life for surfing the web on Wi-Fi, watching videos or listening to music, and up to nine hours of surfing the web using a 3G data network.*

Data plans do not require a minimum term contract. All tariffs include free access to Bitbuzz Wi-Fi hotspots. Once customers register their micro SIM, they’ll also get a day of free broadband access.

O2’s prepay broadband micro SIM for use on iPad will give customers the freedom and control to switch on or off mobile data, as best suits their needs, directly on the device. iPad compatible O2 micro sims are available in O2 stores and Apple Reseller Stores for use on iPad at O2’s daily and monthly prepay broadband rates.
