Co. Clare, Ireland — 08 Mar. 2010

“Attitude can be the making or breaking point in our being accepted or rejected in all aspects of our lives,” says Alice O’Carroll, team leader at Clare Supported Employment Service (CSE), Ennis, announcing details of an attitude-focused evening which takes place at the Temple Gate Hotel in Ennis on Wednesday, 24 March.

The evening has been organised to help business people create and sustain a positive mental attitude, irrespective of the economy; to spotlight the valuable support being given to Clare Supported Employment Service by local employers; and to show that everyone has a worth in life, irrespective of their personal circumstances. Galway-based professional presenter Pádraic ÓMáille, who is noted for his inspirational presentations on attitude and how it affects our lives, will address the event. All proceeds will go the Goal Haiti Appeal.

As Alice O’Carroll explains: “Clare Supported Employment Service has assisted hundreds of Clare businesses with their staffing needs in the past ten years. Like everyone else, we are very much aware of how much the climate has changed and how is has posed personal challenges for most of us. The impact on business has been particularly marked. We decided to organise this event because we want to offer Clare businesses something of worth which will enable them to meet the challenges facing them at this time. We would also like to take this opportunity to let Clare businesses know about how we may be able to assist them in the current climate. We are delighted that so many people have offered to help us in this process.

“Pádraic ÓMáille is the most sought-after presenter in Ireland in the field of ‘attitude’. He leaves his audience with a deep understanding of what they need to do to change their lives; that’s a challenge in itself, but if adopted, it works. That’s why we were keen to have him speak at the event.

“Eoin Fanning, Director of YUM Catering will speak on his experience of employing two candidates through CSE, while Michael O’Donoghue from Miltown Malbay will share his experience of sourcing employment through CSE. Michael has a particularly positive attitude, which has enabled him to overcome challenges in his life,” says Alice.

“We have found over the years that a ‘can do’ attitude on the part of both employer and employee is the most important, if not the essential, ingredient. This is something which, as Pádraic ÓMáille will show us, is also the big difference between surviving and thriving, or not,” added Ms O’Carroll.

The ‘Attitude Matters’ evening on Wednesday, 24 March runs from 8pm–10pm. There will be opportunities for businesses to network with each other and there will be a fun quiz with prizes, and a draw on the night. All proceeds are going to Haiti so this is an opportunity for the Clare business community to come together and make a difference to the future of Haiti.
