We are holding our Annual Mass for victims of suicide, as well as their families and friends, on Sunday the 7th of February at 1.15pm in the Augustinian Church in Shop Street, Drogheda. The Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Iggy Donovan and it should be a fitting memorial to those we have lost.
For many survivors of suicide, a crucial part of their healing process is the support and sense of connection they feel through sharing their grief with other survivors and this Mass is a wonderful opportunity to stand and pray with others who suffered the same tragic loss.
The Mass is primarily a special Memorial service for those we have lost to suicide and is a wonderful opportunity for us to remember and pray for them. Gerry Simpson and some friends of SOSAD will provide the music and we are also inviting the town’s emergency services because they are the first groups who come across these tragedies. Hopefully the Mass will also be of some comfort to everyone who attends and the bereaved see that there are people who care about them and this heartbreaking blight on today’s society.
We would be obliged if you could help us out by publicising this Mass. We need to get the word to as many people as possible especially anyone who has been bereaved by suicide. My phone number is at the top of this letter, if you need any further information.
Thanking you in anticipation.
Yours sincerely
Peter Moroney
