Co. Dublin, Ireland — 28 May. 2007

Today (Saturday 26th May 2007) over a dozen people decended on Irelands
Largest Fur Farm, Vasa Ltd in Vicarstown, Stradbally, Co Laois. Fourty five
thousand mink are murdered on this farm for their skins every year.
These beautiful, intelligent animals are kept in cages the size of two shoe boxes
until they are approximately six months old, the length of time it takes for
them to grow their full coat. This is when their lives become worthless and
they are thrown into the gas chamber and then skinned on site at the farm.
Their stolen skins will be sold off to the highest bidder and turned into
clothes for the vain. This practice must not be allowed to continue in Ireland.

The Department of Agriculture issue licences to the six fur farms in Ireland
and this license to kill must not be renewed. We intend to continue to raise
public awareness on this issue. So for the second time, we began the day
with an information table in the town of Athy, Co. Kildare, three teams of
activists split up around the town which was littered with leaflets and
petitions were filled with signatures. Then it was off to Vicarstown to hold
a very noisy demo outside the farm, for over an hour we got our message
across loud and clear on our megaphones and the fur farmers were made
very aware that we will never forget the thousands of imprisoned animals held
in the rows of sheds on this farm.

Fur farmers of this country sit up and take notice, no longer can you hide
away in your quiet country retreat and massacre thousands of innocent
animals every year. We will continue to bring our campaign directly to you,
wherever you are, there is no escaping, we intend to expose your vile
business and we will never forget the mink you have imprisoned in your
concentration camps.
