The Ceann Comhairle, Dr. Rory O’Hanlon T.D. will lead a Parliamentary delegation to the Ukraine from 6 – 9 October 2005 at the invitation of the Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament. The other members of the delegation are Deputies Tommy Broughan, Charlie O’Connor, Fiona O’Malley, James Breen, Shane McEntee and Senator Cyprian Brady.
The schedule for the visit includes meetings with the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian Parliament), H.E. Mr. Volodymyr Lytvyn, the President of the Ukraine, H.E. Mr. Viktor Yushchenko, the Prime Minister of the Ukraine, H.E. Mr. Yuriy Yekhanurov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Mr. Boris Tarasyuk and with officials from the Irish Embassy in the Ukraine. It is hoped that this visit to the Ukraine will serve to further strengthen parliamentary relations between the Verkhovna Rada and Oireachtas Éireann.
